Services
Bookkeeping, payroll and tax returns done for you. The software stays free.
Services is a menu for work a person does for you. It is not a charge for Anchor. The books, sales, purchases and reports stay available whether or not you buy a service.
The menu is hidden until it is switched on. A site admin turns it on under Admin → Services, for site admins only or for everyone.
What you can sign up for
Published services appear under Services in the sidebar. The first three are:
- Bookkeeping — someone keeps your books in Anchor.
- Payroll — a payroll team runs payslips, EMP201, UIF and IRP5s in professional payroll software, and posts the journal into your books. This is not Anchor's payroll screens, which stay switched off.
- Tax returns — someone prepares and files an income tax return.
Open a service to read what is included, what is not, and the packages. Prices are in rand and include VAT when the package says so.
A once-off or monthly package shows Sign up now when payment is set up. An owner or admin of the organisation opens it, checks the package, the price and the organisation, ticks I accept the Service terms, and continues to Paystack or Stitch. The seller chooses the provider. Card and bank details stay with that provider. Anchor stores the reference and the amount. A tax invoice is not issued here.
A monthly package is charged for the first month, then each month. My services shows the next payment date. Cancel stops the subscription at the end of the period you have paid for. An overdue Paystack payment offers Update card.
If the selected provider is not configured, Sign up now stays on the page and says payment is not set up yet. The service pages themselves stay available.
Ask about this service opens the support chat so you can talk to the team about a package or about work that is not on the list.
After a payment, My services lists the order. Someone contacts you about the work, and you invite the practice under Settings → Advisors.
For site admins
Admin → Services is where you edit the wording, packages and prices, and choose who can see the menu. Orders lists payments. A package is hidden from customers until it is marked active. A draft or archived service does not appear in the menu.
Prices are entered in rand. Anchor stores them as cents (R12.50 is 1250). The seeded R1.00 packages are placeholders. Replace them before you show the menu to customers. The Service terms page is also a placeholder and must be replaced before anyone is asked to pay.
